How to File a Miscellaneous Application (IA) in Consumer Courts

Introduction

An Interlocutory Application (IA) or Miscellaneous Application is filed during the pendency of a case to seek special relief or directions from the Consumer Commission. It is filed alongside the main case.

Types of Miscellaneous Applications

Type of Application Purpose
Stay Application To stay the execution of an order passed against you
Condonation of Delay To condone delay in filing appeal or revision
Impleadment Application To add a new party to the case
Early Hearing Application To request an urgent or early date
Amendment Application To amend the complaint or pleadings
Settlement Application To record a settlement/compromise between parties

Filing Procedure on e-Jagriti

Step 1: Open Your Existing Case on the Dashboard

Login to e-jagriti.gov.in and go to your case in the Dashboard. Click File Miscellaneous Application / IA.

Step 2: Select the Type of Application

Choose the appropriate type from the dropdown — Stay, Condonation, Impleadment, etc.

Step 3: Draft the Application

Clearly state the reason for the application and the specific relief you are seeking. Be concise and legally precise.

Step 4: Upload Supporting Documents and Submit

Attach all relevant documents. Pay the court fee if applicable and submit.

Important Tips

  • Every IA is listed and heard separately — track it via the Cause List
  • A Stay Application must be supported by strong reasons
  • Condonation of Delay applications require detailed and specific reasons for the delay
