How to File a Complaint Before the State Commission (SCDRC) Directly

Introduction

If the value of your consumer dispute is between Rs. 50 Lakhs and Rs. 2 Crores, you can file a complaint directly before the State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission (SCDRC) — without going to the District Commission first.

Jurisdiction of State Commission

The State Commission has original jurisdiction to entertain complaints where the value of goods or services and compensation claimed is more than Rs. 50 Lakhs but not more than Rs. 2 Crores.

Step-by-Step Filing Process

Step 1: Register/Login on e-Jagriti

Visit e-jagriti.gov.in and login. Click File a Case — Select Consumer Complaint — Choose SCDRC and your state.

Step 2: Fill in Complaint Details

Enter details of Complainant and Opposite Party. Describe the facts and cause of action. Enter the total claim value accurately.

Step 3: Upload Documents

  • Bill / Invoice of goods or services
  • Legal notice sent to OP
  • OP’s reply (if any)
  • All relevant evidence
  • Identity proof

Step 4: Pay Court Fee and Submit

Pay the prescribed court fee online and submit. Save the Filing Reference Number for tracking.
