Introduction

India’s consumer justice system has gone fully digital. You no longer need to visit a court or hire a lawyer just to file a consumer complaint. The Government of India’s e-Jagriti platform at e-jagriti.gov.in allows any consumer to file a complaint from their home, track case status, access cause lists, and pay fees — all online.

What Is e-Jagriti?

e-Jagriti (e-Justice And Grievance Redressal Through Information Technology and Innovation) is the official digital platform of the Department of Consumer Affairs, Government of India. It digitizes and networks all Consumer Commissions at the national, state, and district levels.

Step-by-Step e-Filing Guide

Step 1: Visit the Official Portal

Go to https://e-jagriti.gov.in/ and click on Login / Sign Up.

Step 2: Register Your Account

Click Register. Select your role — Consumer / Advocate / Company. Fill in your mobile number, email, name, and address. Verify via OTP. Upload Identity Proof (Aadhaar / PAN).

Step 3: Select the Commission and File

After login, go to File a Case. Select the case type. Choose the correct commission — DCDRC, SCDRC, or NCDRC — based on your claim value.

Step 4: Fill In All Details

Enter Complainant details, Opposite Party details, cause of action, and relief sought. The system will calculate the court fee based on your claim amount.

Step 5: Upload Documents

Upload all supporting documents in PDF format — bills, invoices, legal notice, correspondence, expert reports, and identity proof.

Step 6: Pay Court Fee and Submit

Use the integrated online payment gateway to pay the court fee. After payment and submission, you will receive a Filing Reference Number.
